STONEVEIL
The Project
Stoneveil Haven is a home rooted in contrast and personal stories are woven into every detail. Inspired by family history and shaped through thoughtful collaboration, the design balances natural materials, custom craftsmanship, and a layered palette that feels both elevated and deeply lived in. The result is a home that is imperfect, personal, and enduringly inviting.

This was a collaboration rooted in trust, clients who fully believed in the vision, a team that showed up with intention, and a process that felt meaningful every step of the way. Together, we navigated weather delays, intricate design decisions, and a few larger challenges that ultimately made the end result even more rewarding.
Curb appeal played a defining role from the start. The goal was a home that felt natural and grounded, but elevated. Something beautiful, but never precious. A space meant to be lived in, not tiptoed around.
What makes this home especially personal are the stories woven into it. The interior and exterior beams were thoughtfully inspired by a church in New York, originally built by the homeowners’ grandfather, an homage that carries both memory and meaning into the space. Details like these are what turn a house into something deeply meaningful.
The kitchen became the anchor of the home. Open to both the dining and living spaces, all material selections needed to work together. The island, in particular, was one of the most intricate elements we designed. Requiring a custom metal frame to support the weight of the countertop and side panel inlays. We introduced custom legs with brass sleeves and a drop-edge countertop detail, adding both structure and refinement. The hood surround followed suit, designed in close collaboration with our fabricator to create a feature that feels both intentional and integrated.
Throughout the home, we focused on custom moments where they mattered most. A furniture-style approach to key elements, a custom designed fireplace mantel crafted by a local company, and metal-fabricated railings framing one of the home’s most striking features: a floating walkway overlooking the living space below.
Layering was everything here. Natural stone, wallpaper, moody paint tones, and white oak floors come together to create a palette that feels rich yet restrained. Custom herringbone inlays add quiet detail underfoot, while cobblestone tile in the laundry and mudroom introduces texture.
Designed as a rental property, materiality was approached with intention. Every finish needed to hold up to use while still maintaining design integrity. This proved that durability and beauty don’t have to compete. Imperfect, personal, elevated.
This home is a study in contrast, where rugged meets refined, and where thoughtful tension between materials creates a layered, lived-in experience. While the overall palette remains soft and grounded, each room was given its own moment, subtle shifts that unfold as you move through the space.
